I'm so excited that you are joining me for the 7 day Yoga Challenge!
Good day!
So, here's how the challenge will work.  I was inspired by Yoga with Adriene.  She has some really wonderful yoga videos on her Youtube channel and website.  If you want to follow along with her challenge for some more oomph, here is her website and welcome video. In her video, she stresses the importance of a daily walk and drinking lemon water upon waking up.  I would love to add these to our challenge too for some added benefits!

In the Guides Section of my Private Facebook group, I have posted the day's yoga video and affirmation to repeat on your walk or while you drink your lemon water.  That way you can decide what time will work best for you.  Honestly, waking up with either a yoga session or a walk really sets my day on the right track.  It helps me sustain motivation for the rest of the day!  But, do what fits your schedule!

One more thing...there is a task each day!  Just a simple Q+A that's all.  We all need some accountability and participation incentives!  Also, I have prizes for participation!

Today's question is: What is your intention for this 7 day challenge? Use the list of 38 benefits from the article and give us a few!

  1. My intention for doing this 7 day challenge professionally is to help others discover, rekindle, or support a daily yoga practice. My personal intention has to do with #5 taking care of my spine, #11 stress and cortisol levels, and #21 boosting my immune system! Let us know your intentions in the comments!!
  2. I am hoping to get some more stretching in to help with my stiff body (especially my lower back). It has been almost 8 years since i practiced yoga (before having kids). Specifically i want to work on 1 and 2; increase flexibility and gain muscle strength.

    Thanks for doing this!
  3. My intentions are to 1) practice gratitude daily and 2) to increase my flexibility. Working remote has me at my desk for 10-12 hours daily right now, and I need to purposefully spend some time in self care other than just cleaning when I’m not online working.
  4. I want to join the challenge for many of the 38 benefits. I am 63 and stress, joints , muscle loss and so many others are reasons for me to join. Thanks Tanya.
  5. I Love Yoga and I want all the benefits but I have a bad back and yoga strengthens my core and back so much! I have wanted to do Yoga with you and bought some classes but didn’t get a chance to use them before all this mess! Excited to start!

My intention for this challenge is to find a place to relax and calm my mind and body; stretching my muscles and gaining some flexibility. I also want to improve my posture and ease my back pain. I go to a chiropractor every other week so I'm hoping that by starting yoga, it will help to decrease this need. I'm not a morning person but I feel that is the best time to start; now just need to find a quiet place away from 3 boys LOL

This year, I'm very focused on strengthening my core and keeping my spine supple. Also, deepening my breath and elongating my exhale.
